2. Data we collect

We collect only the data you voluntarily provide when using the contact form:

• Full name
• Email address
• Phone number (optional)
• Area of inquiry
• Text of your message

3. Purpose of processing

Your data will be used to: (a) respond to your inquiry; (b) schedule a free initial consultation, if you wish; and (c) if you have subscribed to the newsletter, to occasionally send you informational legal guides about law in Costa Rica.

Your data is not used for third-party advertising purposes. Where a client relationship management (CRM) system is used to manage inquiries, your data may be processed by that service provider under a confidentiality agreement and solely for the stated purposes. Under no circumstances is your data sold or transferred to unrelated third parties.

Your data may be disclosed to a competent authority when required by law.

4. Legal basis

The legal basis for processing is your express consent when submitting the form, pursuant to Law No. 8968 on the Protection of the Person regarding the processing of personal data, and its regulations.

5. Retention period

We retain your data for the time necessary to handle your inquiry and, where applicable, to maintain the professional relationship. Data is subsequently deleted, except where retention is legally required.

6. Rights of the data subject

As the data subject, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request rectification of inaccurate or outdated data
• Request deletion when no longer necessary
• Object to or restrict processing
• Withdraw consent at any time

7. Security

We adopt reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, or loss. Information shared in consultations is additionally protected by professional secrecy under Costa Rican law.

8. Cookies and analytics

This site uses only strictly necessary cookies for basic technical operation and, with your express consent through the cookie banner, the following anonymous analytics tools:

• Google Analytics 4 (GA4) with Consent Mode v2 and anonymized IP. Until consent is granted, GA4 sends only cookieless "pings" with no persistent identifiers. After consent, standard GA4 cookies are set to measure site usage (page views, events, time on page).
• Cloudflare Web Analytics: a cookie-free solution with no persistent identifiers. Measures performance (Core Web Vitals) and aggregate traffic without collecting personal data.

You may accept or reject analytics at any time via the cookie banner. If you reject, GA4 remains in "denied" mode and no analytics cookies are set. Cloudflare Web Analytics continues operating because it does not use cookies or personal data.

These tools imply processing by third parties (Google LLC and Cloudflare, Inc., both in the U.S.). Processing is based on user consent and, for Cloudflare, on the legitimate interest of ensuring the technical operation of the site. Their privacy policies are available on their respective websites.

9. Changes

This policy may be updated to reflect legal or operational changes. The current version will always be published on this same page, with the date of last update.
